Wall St extends gains, S&P up two percent (Reuters)

NEW YORK (Reuters) ? Stocks extended gains on Monday with the S&P 500 rising more than 2 percent after a merger between two big banks in Greece and a rebound in consumer spending boosted appetite for risky assets.

The Dow Jones industrial average (.DJI) was up 184.28 points, or 1.63 percent, at 11,468.82. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index (.SPX) was up 22.47 points, or 1.91 percent, at 1,199.27. The Nasdaq Composite Index (.IXIC) was up 53.42 points, or 2.15 percent, at 2,533.27.
