What I would do if I were YOU. Throughout the day I receive many emails asking advice on what to do to lose major body fat, nutritional advice, and how to get in the best shape. With the holiday season approaching I wanted to put together a survival list that will make you bullet proof against temptations. Sound easy huh?!? Keep in mind that every single day we walk a fine line of success and failure and I really believe that you must focus on daily progress?not perfection:) So if you fall?get up?brush off the dirt and start again.
1. Plan Your Meals- During the hectic holiday schedule of events the key to not falling of the wagon is having your meals and snacks planned in advance. A good idea is to cook extra meat, sweet potatoes, boiled eggs, and keep a surplus of whey protein on hand.
2. Snacks On Hand- The #1 item to always have on hand is unsalted almonds. During desperate moments a good quality protein bar is a must:)
3. Increase Your Water- Water, water, and more water. Try to avoid grabbing the diet soda, egg nog latte?, and other caffeine beverages if your pants are feeling a little tight.
4. Earling Morning Workouts- During the holiday season your nights will be packed with work and family functions. Studies show a 90% success rate if you exercise first thing in the morning! The early morning is short term pain for long term gain:)
5. Group Exercise- If you struggle with low motivation then I would recommend a fitness boot camp or a group fitness class. Many see incredible results with the assistance of a personal trainer who can design a program that is efficient for your time. Statistics show a 225% success rate with group exercise!!
6. Do Not Skip Meals- This is super easy to do. To really prevent putting the extra inches around the midsection, bing eating, and low energy levels I would not skip meals.
7. Reduce Your Stress- Stress is a major culprit to so many health problems. The releasing of the hormone cortisol will cause excessive weight gain, bloating, muscle loss, and yes lower your will power to eat junk food.
8. Reduce Alcohol Intake- I know the holidays brings out the holiday cheer, but excessive drinking can pack on the pounds.
