Asbury Park, New Jersey ? JGo Labs today is pleased to introduce SEAL Fitness Challenge 1.0 for iOS, their new Health & Fitness app incorporating a proprietary game engine, which provides a different workout at every session in an exercise program based on Navy SEAL training. Featuring virtual SEAL instructors, users are cajoled and encouraged as they progress through Indoctrination, Evolution Training, and the final Qualification Challenge. The app does not require any special exercise equipment, and it includes a wide variety of bodyweight exercises, plus running, swimming, and the ability to create user-defined exercises.
SEAL Fitness Challenge (SFC) is based on the physical fitness training approaches and requirements faced by U.S. Navy SEAL Candidates going through SEAL Basic Underwater Demolition (BUD/S) training. SFC is an imaginative, intense, demanding, and dynamic fitness trainer, which helps those interested in challenging themselves to get into the best physical shape possible.
For those starting out or without the time to devote to longer workouts, Indoctrination Training helps users prepare for the more difficult Evolution Training to come. Users can select from more than 30 different exercises in the app?s database, plus any they choose to permanently add. Those starting the fitness regimen this way can choose any exercise via the Apple picker, infinite odometer display and then perform as many reps as possible in the allotted time.
Alternatively, the Surprise Me button will select an entry at random. Exercises include: Burpees, Calf Raises, Close Grip Pull-Ups, Chin-Ups, Crunches, Decline Push-Ups, Diamond Push-Ups, Front Lunges, Incline Push-Ups, Jumping Jacks, Knee-Ups, Knee Tuck Jumps, Leg Raises, Mountain Climbers, Planks, Pull-Ups, Push-Ups, Side Lunges, Sit-Ups, Sprint 25 Yards, Sprint 50 Yards, Sprint 75 Yards, Sprint 100 Yards, Stand-Ups, Squats, Swim Laps, Timed Run, Wide Pull-Ups, and Wide Push-Ups.
Feature Highlights:
* Immersive and Dynamic ? workouts are generated on the fly, assuring a different challenge every time you workout
* Master Chief Halpern ? meet the gritty old-school Navy SEAL, Chief Halpern, who you will never seem to be able to make happy
* Proctor Suarez ? with constant encouragement, he is there to help you get through the rigors of training like a SEAL
* SFC Coach ? SFC provides a virtual coach, which provides you with workout and nutrition tips, even when you aren?t using SFC.
* Warm-ups, cool-downs, breaks, active rests, running, swimming, and exercises are all timed automatically
* Features photos of real SEAL candidates during training
The full BUD/S training program begins in Evolution Training, selectable from SFC?s Dashboard window. In the Evolution Training Configuration window, Wannabes and Candidates can set their total workout Time from 10 ? 90 minutes in 1-minute increments. Evolution workout Intensity can be set at any point on a slider that goes from Easy to Medium to Hard. The Run and Swim exercises can each be set On/Off. A Music button provides optional music playback during the session. Touching the Go button initiates the start of a customized workout that will be different every day, varying the order and intensity of exercises from the database. Following each exercise, the user enters the number of repetitions completed in the time allowed, and the app uses this input to evaluate the SEAL Candidate?s progress.
Finally, fitness enthusiasts may attempt to qualify as a Seal Operator by completing the Qualification Challenge. To qualify, candidates must perform the following: 85 Push-Ups (2 min.), 90 Sit-Ups (2 min.), 18 Pull-Ups (2 min.), and the 3-Mile Run (27 min.).
?SEAL Fitness Challenge uses a proprietary gaming engine developed by JGo Labs to assure that users of the application experience a different workout each and every time they use the app,? stated John Gomez of JGo Labs. ?Just like real SEAL Candidates, who never are sure of what will be thrown at them next, our development team wanted to make sure that users of SFC would be challenged in a similar fashion. Consequently, this method of training helps drive better fitness results faster then traditional training programs.?
