A train carrying 232 passengers was stranded in West Virginia overnight during a violent storm that knocked trees down on the tracks, Amtrak said Saturday.
The train, on a trip from New York to Chicago, had stopped at Prince, W.Va., around 11 p.m. Friday when the storm swept through, blocking the tracks, Amtrak said in a statement.
The train had power for lights and air conditioning, Amtrak said, and it was stocked with food. Many people had planned to sleep on the train during the overnight trip, Amtrak said.?
